Metric Notification but ignore a specific server/action

Hi,
We have setup a notification alert if the Socket Read is above the threashold. But we have a valid scenario where if the socket read is to a certain server, we know that it is going to be more than the threshold and we don’t want to get email notification about that Socket Read. Is that possible and if so, can you guide us where to configure this? For Eg: Server 1 has WLSDM. I want the alert notification on Socket Read from Server 1 is more than 5 seconds to any server except Server 2.

Hi Jeba,
You can configure each event on each server separately.
To achieve this:
First, open WLSDM console and go to Configuration > Monitoring & Diagnostics page then click the “Back-end Systems” tab.
Then open the “New Back-end Systems Monitoring” configuration modal.
And configure the event(s) on your managed server for your requirements.
Regards.

Hi,
Thank you for the quick response. My use case is different. Lets say the “ManagedServer_1” in the above screenshots that you provided is making a socket read to multiple different Servers (like File Server, Reporting server and Database servers). I know the socket read for the reporting server is going to take more than 5 seconds and I don’t want to get that notification. But if the Socket Read to a File Server is more than 5 seconds, I need to get the email alert. Is this clear?
So, its the same WebLogic Managed Server (which has WLSDM configured) making socket reads to other servers in our network. I want to pick and choose which socket read to the external server, we need it as alerts/notifications.
Thanks.

Hi Jeba,
WLSDM does not have the feature for your requirement which is giving a threshold for the specific IP/hostname.
But it could be a nice feature, we will evaluate this feature for the next releases.
